Message In most big cities the 300 does not really have much of a reputation as a street racer. In my experience most people categorize the 300 with the Stealth/3000 as a heavy slow car. A "pig" is the most common term i've heard to describe the 300's street racing ability:)
And while we here at tt.net know that the 300 can be made into a very formidable street machine (my car being a good example), the general import crowd (not everyone just most of them) does not see it this way. I don't know how many times people have seen my race on the street or on the track and have come up to me and said "Wow, I didn't know 300's were so fast." And truth be told how many really fast 300's do we have with our thousands of members?
**By fast I mean 1/4 fast, which is the measuring stick most people seem to judge a sports car by (which is wrong IMHO). **
We have 2 10 sec Z's..Kyle's and Travis'. There are about a dozen other potential 10 sec cars out there, but as I can attest to...it is a lot easier to say you are building a 10 sec car than to actually run a 10 second 1/4 mile pass with that car:)
A handfull of 11 second Z's.
An increasing number of 12 second Z's.
This number is pretty small compared to the number of Z owners we have here. And I'd like to think that the Z owners here are a little bit more performance oriented than most.
Personally I think the Z is an excellent sports car and can be made to run with best of them in any racing arena. Would I like to see a Z in F&F? Maybe. But think about it. If one were used it would be a riced out example that 90% of the people here would just criitcize, myself included. So maybe we're better off without a Z in the movie. I think so. Just my $.02
